Kiss counts
Taylor's asking for extra kisses at night. And it's in a special order. This side (cheek), that side, this side again, and nose! Lol, it's too cute!

First Tooth
Sabrina got her first tooth in on Friday (5/18). Just about the time Taylor got her first tooth.
We officially have a crawler!!!
She started May 10th!
..and its not "oh, that's right, I can crawl, maybe I will do that a little bit"...
The second a body part hits the ground, she's crawling. She doesn't sit, hangout, or stay stationary. She's 100% mobile. Like faster than 5G mobile.
Note to self...vacuum more!

Friendly Taylor
Taylor has been making new friends everywhere!
We went on a walk last week and she STARTED conversations with 3 houses! She made a new friend, Kira who is 4 and lives a few doors down. Within minutes, they were running around with each other.
They said bye maybe 20 times before we were able to part ways.
She gave 3 neighbors hugs and waves. She's such a kind soul.
Farmer's Market Gal
Taylor was such the little helper this weekend. I took the girls to the local farmer's market and Taylor really ran the show. She paid all the vendors, brought all the fruit to the scales, and got lots of compliments. I'm so proud of her!
Garget, Target.....it doesn't matter
"I want to go to Garget Mommy. Let's go to Garget"
Taylor is truly my kid!

Taylor loves me. She really loves me!
LOL, silly Sally Field reference...
anyways, Taylor loves gardening with Mike. She made these for me, all on her own. What a sweetheart!
Noodles
Taylor love Noodles and Mac n Cheese like no one's business. She has so much fun at dinner if either is served. Makes dinner last twice as long, but that's ok if its like this!!!
Sabrina loves going to restaurants
Sabrina's first time in a restaurant high chair.
She loved it!
...and she went straight to the wine list!
Sisterly Love
It seriously grows every day and I love seeing it.
From the perspective on an only child, this love is so amazing. I may not have had a sister, but I'm so glad I was able to give that gift to my daughters. :)
Costco
I've never enjoyed going to Costco until this day:
They've both been in shopping cars before, and they like it.....the second they realized they got to sit together, they both were beaming. It was such a fun trip to Costco!
My artsy fartsy kids
I have a feeling that my kids are going to be very left brained. Or is it right brained? I do not know, but I love that they have a love for art and music.
Taylor is such an artist. She comes home every Friday with her week's artwork and it always amazes me. The things she comes up with. How she uses her colors, how she draws certain lines, it is SO cool! She can draw happy faces on her own, i've seen letters, everything. I swear she's even drawn Rocket from Little Einsteins!!
She loves music too. She's quite a dancer. ..and singer too! She sings along to my new favorite song:
Bob Marley:
The Twinkle Song:
EIEIEIEIEIEIEIEO
...and we cannot forget about Sabrina's love for the arts! Here is her first pic on the iPad.
and while she can't sing, she can still sing! She's a loud babbler and I swear she babbles to the beat. I've heard her babble and hum to ABC/Twinkle Twinkle before. She has quite the rhythm!! She also dances to my new favorite song.
I think I may have instilled my favorite music on my kids...and I love it!
Funny how talks about the kids change
Not too long ago, conversations went like this:
Them: "Oh, what new words does Taylor say?"
Me: She says "Cat" "apple" "airplane" yada yada
Sometimes, I still get questions about her new words. My answers are so different.
She sings entire songs:
She has entire conversations:
She tells me how she feels. She can tell how I feel. Taylor's growth just amazes me!
My mover and shaker
Look at Sabrina! She's on the verge of crawling. She is trying so hard and is almost there!
Some of Sabrina's new firsts!
She claps! - March 26
She blows raspberries! - March 22
She nods yes! - March 1
She shakes her head no! - Feb 15
She waves! - March 24
She has really been trying to crawl. During tummy time, she's lifting her but up and trying so hard to reach for things.
She's a real grabby mcgrabberson.
She has such strong reflexes!
She still has straight hair
A smile that will melt your heart
She loves her big sister and loves mimicing her.
She's obsessed with Bailey. She sees him and starts making this funny chant!
She loves avocados. She has liked all foods, but so far avocados are her favorite.
She has been a better/more predictable sleeper :)

iphone
Both kids are obsessed.
Sabrina tries to constantly eat the phone
Taylor likes to look at all the pictures and videos.
I'm obsessed with it too, but that's to be expected :) Here's a dump of my favorite iphone pics!

Sweet drop off today
Taylor got me all teary eyed today at drop off. As I was driving there, she wanted to sing her new favorite song (hush little baby don’t say a word mamas going to buy you a mockingbird). She calls it her “medicine song” or something, I don’t know. but I sang it a couple of times, then pulled in the driveway and she wanted me to sing it again, so I held her hand and did. She was super happy. Then I walk them to the door, and she gives me a hug and asks me to sing it again. So I hug her and sing it quietly in her ear before she went in. Then I said bye to Sabrina who was super happy. Then she came back and was like kiss mommy kiss!

Awkward maybe?
I took the girls to Yogurtland for a treat after their first week of day care. (ok, Taylor got froyo and Sabrina nom'd on a spoon).
A heavier set lady walks in, and goes to fill up her cup of froyo.
Taylor sees her, looks at me while pointing to her and says "biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig"
Lucky for us, the lady didn't hear Taylor. I looked at Taylor and said, let's not point and say that, etc. She proceeded to repeat herself 4 more times.
Zoinks!

Vocab report
Sabrina:
Dadadada
babababa
dadadabababaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Taylor:
This used to be easy. I would list out her new words.
Now, she talks. She just says sentences, thoughts, questions, DEMANDS. Its hard to keep track and record her "vocab milestones"
We were playing with her Little Einsteins dolls and she has full paragraphs of conversation. "let's put Quincy in the rocket then take out and put Annie in the rocket. Ok, now Leo's turn. Put Leo in the rocket"
She also recognizes her name when reading as well as recognizes certain letters.
T is for Taylor
S is for Mina (yes, technically that should be M is for Mina, but you get the point)
M is for Mommy
D is for Daddy
A is for Apple.
Love them!

New Day Care
We moved the girls to a new day care. One with a preschool program for Taylor. They are both doing great! Taylor loves being there and playing on their playground and making new friends. We've seen a change (for the better) in her already!
Another perk of Sandra's day care? The kids are more tired and sleeping better! Win win for everyone!

Saluations
Taylor is so cute. She knows when I am getting ready for work. Its probably the fact that I am actually getting out of sweats which triggers her to realize something is up. "No work mommy!" She says. Its adorable, but makes it so hard to have to leave. She really just wants me to stay and I can't.
But...when I actually say good bye to her, she gets extra cute. "More Beso mommy! More Kisses mommy!" We go through about 3 rounds of kisses before I get to the door. Usually, the last thing I hear from her is "bye mommy...soon!" (as in bye mommy, see you soon!)

Food
I started Sabrina on solids yesterday. I fed her some oatmeal and she devoured it! It was almost like she has had solids before, or we've been holding out for too long. Either way, it was a success.
We can't believe we have brought out the high chair already!

Read This Mina
Taylor has some high expectations of her sister. This morning, she kept putting toys (with words on them) in front of Sabrina and demanding "read this Mina"

My finger got stuck!
I took Taylor to the grocery store with me the other evening. She managed to get her finger stuck in the shopping cart for about 5-10 seconds. Not a big deal. All was well after I got her finger out. No damage, nada.
For the next 45 minutes, everytime we passed another shopper, Taylor would make her mark. It went like this:
1. Wave and say Hi...over and over and over...until the person turns, smiles and says hi.
2. She smiles
3. Immediately says "My finger got stuck and I got an owie"
I only want to write about this because she made so many people stop and smile. Its not ever easy to go grocery shopping with a kid in tow..but it is surely still enjoyable if i'm with one of my girls. :)

Chloe's 2nd Bday
Our friend's daughter's 2nd bday party was on Saturday and it was at a place called Little Gym. Its basically a small gymnastics place for kids as young as 4 months old. Taylor loooooooooooooooooooooved this place. She was especially in love with walking the balance beam and jumping into my arms at the end. She was such a doll just running around, jumping and playing with her friends. Even Sabrina got in on the action!
She has been asking for Chloe every day since "Where did Chloe go?"

Dadadadadadada
Taylor started with Mama...
Sabrina is starting with Dada.
She's babbling so much these days. Its so fun to hear what her voice sounds like.
JUST NOT AT 3AM!

Owie All Gone
I had a random scratch on my face. Mike tells Taylor.."look Mommy has an owie". Taylor quickly comes over, gives me a big kiss and says "Owie all gone"
She is such a sweetheart!

Ava
My cousin's daughter.
Taylor is obsessed. She talks about Ava all the time. Anytime we see her, we hear about her for days afterward.
Me: Taylor, its time for Anna's
Taylor: No, let's go to Ava
Me: Time for dinner
Taylor: Eat with Ava
Me: Ice cream?
Taylor: Ava
(ok, I made the last one up, no one says no to ice cream).
It is really fun watching the two together. Ava is 7 years old and loves Taylor. She shows her toys. Gets her to laugh. Walks her around whichever house we're in. She looks out for her as much as Taylor looks up to Ava. She's really protective over her too. If there are other kids around, Ava makes sure they all know to be nice and watch out for her little cousin, Taylor! Its such a sweet relationship.

Go 9ers!
After too many years, the SF 49ers made it to the playoffs. We have been really fired up at home because they are having a great season and well, we are 49er fans!
We had the Grotzs over and it was a great time. Taylor and Chloe played a lot together while Sabrina just soaked up the night being held by one person or another. They kept repeating calls the refs would make or scream out "Gooo 9ers!" They would dance and cheer for our home team. It was a lot fun.
At one point, Taylor and Chloe sat down for snacks and Taylor did such a good job making sure Chloe didn't hit her head on the kitchen counter. "Chloe. No hit head here [taps on counter]. You hit your head and get owie". Our girl is growing up!
She also hit her head on the counter within 5 minutes. Go fig.
When the 9ers lost, everyone was bummed. Mike was pissed. All rightfully so. Taylor runs in and screams out "go 9eeeerrrrs!"...she makes it all better. Talk about spirit!

Sabrina's Excitment
I love how happy Sabrina is. She's always happy, chipper, content, smiley, laughing, etc. What a positive ray of light she is! Do'nt get me wrong, Taylor is a happy pappy girl, but she's got a fire to her while Sabrina has this sense of calm. They're very different, but also very similar.
Anytime Sabrina gets somthing that makes her happy. Whether its a toy, or it is a smile from mommy or daddy, she gets so filled with happiness she starts doing an arm-dance. She starts to wave her arms like a bird and hits her sides with them. Its hard to explain, but if she ever does that, you know her world can't get much brighter at that very moment. :)

A House Full of Colds
During the past month, we've all been sick at least once. I'm on my 3rd bout with this silly cold.
This last weekend, Mike, Sabrina and myself were the victims. Being sick is bad. Seeing any of your children sick is worse. What's worse of all!? When the only person in your family four pack who is healthy is your rambuncious, endless-source-of-energy 2.5 year old!
Taylor has all the energy in the world. and then some. ...and here we are sick as dogs, trying to care for a sick infant. All while entertaining/reeling in/catching up with Taylor. This weekend was an interesting one!

Talkative Taylor from this weekend
No Mommy. No cookies for you Mommy.
Mommy ate all the cookies!
Grandpa left and when he goes home he says hi to Alice. (ok not all 100% coherent, but she said that).

The wonder in her eyes
When she sees Christmas lights
When you show her something that, to you, may be so basic/boring/etc, but to Taylor, its magical
When Taylor fingerprints. My hands are doing that!
When Taylor sees fireworks. I can't believe I used to not care about these, she sees them and its like they were there just for her!
The look when she sees the Christmas tree on Christmas morning
When she does something that makes Mina smile
When Sabrina accidentally touches Taylor showing us how proud Taylor is when even Sabrina does the littlest of things
The look on Sabrina's face anytime she sees Bailey.
Sabrina's eyes the first time she petted Grey Cat

Christmas Lights
We drove around every day for an entire month looking at Christmas lights. Mostly on our way home from day care. sometimes when I was too tired to entertain them, I would put them in the car and drive around.
Taylor LOVED it. Sabrina napped. Both were good things.
Taylor would say over and over "oooooooooooooooooh, liiiiiiiiiiiiiights, prettttttty"
There was one house about a block away from ours that had every inch of their front lawn and porch decked out. I'm talking timed to music. Everything. We would walk to their house so many times and she would just stand there dancing to the Xmas songs while Sabrina and I watched along with a smile.
