Ft Worth Trip

Yeehaw. Back from Ft Worth! As you can tell, there has been A LOT of travel this month. Not just for me, Mike as well. While I was in Boston, he was in Vegas. While I was in Ft Worth, Mike was in Sandusky, Ohio. This all happened and both of us were traveling during our 1st wedding anniversary!

Ft Worth was pretty boring. Just another retail trade show. The highlight? We met Joe Montana! Cool Joe! I shook his hand twice! I love celeb sightings! I even talked to him. 9er fan for life yo! (ok, that's a little exaggerated than my actual love for the 9ers, but it made me like them a little more). :)

Beantown trip

I just spent a couple of days in Boston for my team's quarterly meeting. I didn't see as much of the city as I would've liked, but I definitely want to go back for a longer and more pleasurable visit! We had dinner at a 225 year old restaurant that served wonderful clam chowder! It was great!

One night while the crew hit up a cigar bar, I went and met up with my friend Robyn as she was in town at the same time for work! We had drinks at some  bar and it felt straight out of Sex & The City! Nothing like a couple of cosmos shared between a couple of close girlfriends in a big city, not of our own!

The trip back was absolutely horrible. I had a layover in Phoenix. My flight left late...then there was a sandstorm...and I had to run through the airport....just to watch my connecting flight to San Jose leave without me...and with 40 empty seats!

After standing in the customer service line, Useless Airwarys put me up in a Quality Inn in Tempe, AZ. I got harassed by a maniacal lady foaming at the mouth, missed the shuttle due to crazy crowds and FINALLY ended up at this "Quality" Inn. First off, the maniacal lady tried to stay in my room as the airline didn't comp her room (or was it because she harrassed the folks in the customer service line so much that security had to usher her out). THEN, as I walked to my room, I recalled seeing this place before...in any episode of Law & Order where they find the bad guys in some crack deal. There were cops dealing with complaints, rabit cats, and of course, the rampant maniacal woman roaming the hallways. The room was 100+ degrees when I arrived which explained the nasty mold growing everywhere. Luckily, I woke up at 4am to catch the first flight out. I was SO happy to NOT see that crazy lady on the shuttle ride back. I did not need to hear her freak out and scream and smell foul any longer! Luckily, Mike greeted me at the hotel and life started to feel normal again back in San Jose. Ahhh

Dave Matthews Greek Theater Weekend!

DMB has been on tour and they just made their way to the Greek Theater! First time they've played there in 14  years (so, obviously, I hadn't seen them there until now). Its the first time seeing them live without LeRoy after his untimely death last month.

I saw them twice this weekend. Friday night, Mike & I went with Erin & Gil (Gil's first time!) I almost got us lost on the way up there (whoops, me? Never)...by almost getting us stuck going over the Bay Bridge during rush hour traffic. (Thank you Gil for saving us about 2 hours of hell!)

We arrived and Erin & I enjoyed our tradition of drinking MGDs in the car. BTW, this is our 4th & 5th time seeing DMB together....also my 9th and 10th time seeing DMB live. The show was AWESOME! They had a great set list and we had a fantastic time!

Saturday, Erin & I came back for another round of great music, great conversation and great times. ....oh yeah and another round of MGDs in the car. Gotta Love it!

I can't wait for next year for our 6th trip to see the best band ever live together!

A fabulous day in the city. Outside Lands.

Saturday marked the 1st annual Outside Lands Festival in Golden Gate Park. So many cool performers, but the main reasons were Tom Petty & BEN HARPER!

One of my best friends Jess, and I decided to make a HUGE day out of the show and hit up the festival. We took the train up to SF, had lunch in SOMA and trek over to Golden Gate Park. After lunch, we cabbed it to my old apartment in NOPA and walk to the Haight and through the park. Lets just say, I didn't necessarily map this out well (me? go figure). We walked SOOOO MUCH! (by the end of the night, we walked 8.5 miles).

We took some fantastic pics throughout the day, met some cool people, walked through some interesting crowds and enjoyed some great music. It was definitely one of my favorite concerts ever!...mostly because of great company, the experience of a day in the city and Ben Harper of course!

Tersh and I had SO MUCH FUN! After the show, we took Muni back to the Caltrain station and trained it back to San Jose. My feet hurt more than ever and I will never put those converse on again. Good times!

Trip to Sonoma

I went on the annual marketing offsite event for work. The marketing folks treked up to Sonoma for such a great day! Now you're thinking, oooh a day of wine tasting....how team building can that be? (it certainly can, but that's not all we did).

We first went to a ropes course! Yep, that's right! Yours truly is absolutely afraid of heights. Terrified! We get the details, and i'm apparently supposed to channel my inner George of the Jungle...climbing trees, zip lines. OMG! YIKES! WTF! I spent the week prior freaking out, trying to come up with excuses to get myself out of this trip. Seriously was NOT too keen on this.

Well, it certainly was a team building event. My awesome coworkers really helped me conquer my fears. I really surprised myself that I did what I did. I shed some tears, freaked out a bit, but in the end.....I did what I didn't think I could do.

A nice ending to the trip was that we did do some olive oil tasting, wine tasting and enjoyed a YUMMY dinner. Oh, and the limo ride home was icing on the cake!

The entire Bugli family went on an extended weekend trip to Clear Lake this last weekend. It is the first time I've ever gone on a trip with Mike's family. We had SO MUCH FUN!

To sum it up, we hung  out with the kids a lot...
Did some boating and fishing (lots of fishing, it was GREAT)
Hung out on our own private beach
Hung out at our cool cabin.

I had SUCH a great time. i'm blessed  with such a fun and happy family.

Where did July go?

Its been a crazy busy month! Both  Mike and I have been working a lot this month so nothing too exciting to talk about.

With that said, here are some pics of Gray Cat (little over 2 yrs old) and Bailey (almost 6) to hold you over.

Weekend of Being Savages!

Camping is something that Mike has gotten me into. All but 1 trip has been with Mike. His outdoorsy-ness has really rubbed off on me and i'm SO thankful for it.

I  should mention, we don't just camp...we backpack. No sleeping in a truck, no coolers, no portable DVD players. Just us, our backpacks, the basic sustenance and nature.

Our first trip was 7 years ago. We went to Point Reyes with our close friends Ryan and Jillian.  Since our 1st trip back in '01, we've all got married, moved on from college, etc. Well, this past weekend, we went on another trip to Point Reyes with R&J. The original plan was to hike on day 1, camp overnight, hike to our 2nd site, camp overnight and hike home on day 3. The goal was to hike about a total of 15 miles. Not too many miles overall, but when you factor in the hills, narrow trails, switchbacks and summer weather, it was a perfect goal.

So, Friday, we were off! We hiked to our first site, ate lunch and decided on doing a day hike to the beach during the rest of the day. This is where our plan changed a bit. That roundtrip hike (including our initial hike to camp) totaled over 10 miles! We were smashed  by the end of that day! It was a BEAUTIFUL hike to the most BEAUTIFUL beach in all of the world (that's my opinion, and second to Antigua of course).  We were savage!  We kicked major ass! Did I also mention that it was 100+ degrees during this hike?

That night, we came to a crazy cool revelation!!! Not only did we realize we did this trip 7 years ago, almost to the day, but that we were at the SAME.EXACT.CAMPSITE as in 2001! How did we know this? We saw our sorority and fraternity letters carved in the table we were having dinner at!!!! I even saw AG+MB that Mike carved. How cute and crazy, huh!?!? Needless to say, we did some more carving that night.

The next morning, we woke up and decided to cut our trip a day short. It was piping hot when we woke up and we felt we hiked the weekends worth all in 1 day. We hiked the handful of miles back to the car and headed home. We did 15+ miles by the end of our journey.

I think we'll definitely be back in 2015 in another 7 years. We'll see where we are then? Will we be bringing our kids??

Running...

My latest thing (well as of March) has been running. I've always said that I wouldn't run unless i'm being chased. Well, after a while, I've noticed that I haven't been going to the gym that much. Honestly, the gym bores me. That said, I wanted to stay healthy and look good.

So, i've  started running and I love it! I go about 3-4 times a week. I try to run about 2 miles each time I go out during the week and do about 4-5 miles on the weekends. Its been fabulous!

There's a great park by our place called Houge Park....its not huge or anything, but it has a great track and my run starts the second I close the front door.  My favorite is running the Los Gatos Creek Trail. I have different variations, but it really reminds me of when I did Cross Country in high school. I  love blasting my ipod and getting lost in my run. I'm doing SO much better than I ever thought I would!

Its been such an enjoyable part of my weekly routine and my goal  is to do a 5k by the end of the year. Go Me! :)

Time to start a blog!

I've always wanted to start a blog, but thought I haven't had the time. At the same time, I wanted to chronicle the good times I've had with my wonderful husband, friends and family. With that said, i've stopped making excuses and  decided, there's no time  like the present. I don't know how often i'll update the blog, but i'll try at least 1 time a month. We'll see how this goes.
